Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNO): The PG Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery, GMC Srinagar, in collaboration with JAKASI, successfully hosted a Live Operative Workshop on Advanced Laparoscopic GI and Gynae Oncosurgery on Friday at the GMC Auditorium.
The event witnessed the participation of surgical faculty and postgraduates from across the region, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.
The highlight of the workshop was the presence of Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar, an internationally renowned laparoscopic oncosurgeon from Galaxy Hospital, Pune. Dr. Puntambekar showcased his unparalleled expertise by performing Laparoscopic Whipple’s Procedure, Lap LAR for Carcinoma Rectum, and Lap Wertheim’s Hysterectomy for Carcinoma Endometrium, setting a benchmark in surgical excellence and innovation.
Inaugural ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof Dr Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal and Dean GMC Srinagar, with Dr Puntambekar as the Guest of Honor , Prof Rukhsana Najeeb - Principal GMC Anantnag & Prof. Dr Fazl ul Qadir Parray - Principal SKIMS Medical College as special guests.
